Vintage Japanese medicine box featuring lots of (unknown) contents. The box is made from thick board, has a drawer and a metal handle. It is a traditional medicine box. Quite interesting and very unique. Unsure if this is over 100 years old (antique) or vintage. Medicine boxes were used all over Japan by he 1920s. They contained important first aid items and often had interesting calligraphy denoting the area they came from.
This traditional box still has some of its original contents, is in original condition and is worn given its age but still very sturdy. A collectible
This is a unique social record of time.
Other different medicine boxes are available and they would look fabulous as a stack. Would look good on a modern buffet adding interest or simply placed amongst other information objects or collectibles.
Only one of its kind available.
