Bamboo Tableware

Food Safety.

Tableware made from bamboo is BPA free, which is an industrial chemical that has been used to make certain plastics and resins. The resin used to bind the bamboo is a vegetable resin. The colours are achieved by a vegetable dye.  The products are also phthalates free (a chemical used for longevity).

Bamboo products are Foodsafe approved by LFGB  (in Europe) and FDA. These organisations carry out food container contact tests. The tests include soaking the container with different types of liquid for a period of time and temperature tests.  FDA is the minimum standard of testing in Australia.

Hot and cold food – no problem whatsoever.

Eco friendly

Bamboo tableware is ultimately biodegradable BUT it will last quite a long time (estimated up to 40 years). it is made from sustainable bamboo.  The bamboo is crushed into a powder, a vegetable resin and dye are then added. The blended mix is then poured into the various molds.

A natural and green choice for tableware.

Aesthetics

Beautiful colours are available throughout the leading Edgeware bamboo tableware range. There are a number of amazing designs and the pieces are designed so you can add a little over time.

Colours and designs are contemporary; the range is designed to mix and match. The range is lightweight and very durable.

Cleaning

Bamboo tableware is very easy to clean and maintain. It definitely won’t absorb odours and it is not easily stained however be aware of turmeric staining the oat  coloured plates.

It is dishwasher safe.

No microwaving or placing products in the oven

This is because the fibres will be compromised. They will deteriorate over time and shorten the lifespan of the product.
