Interesting Japanese Medicine Box. It is unsure if this is over 100 years old (antique) or vintage. The box is made from wood, has a drawer and metal handle. Labels are on the front of the drawer. There is a record inside the box. Stunning, unique and very interesting. It is in original condition and is worn given its age but still very sturdy.
This is a traditional Japanese Medicine Box, a unique social record of time and a collectible item. Medicine Boxes were a feature of Japanese life around the 1920s and considered a very import household item. They often had interesting calligraphy denoting the area they came from.
It would look perfect on a buffet adding interest, or placed on a small table in a corner adding interest. Other different medicine boxes are available and they would look fabulous as a stack.
Only one of its kind available.
